Kappa League Commitment

I will strive for excellence, conduct myself as a leader, and make my academic endeavors paramount, as participate in the Lawrenceville-Duluth Alumni Chapter Kappa League Program. Furthermore, I commit that I will participate in the program at a level as follows or greater:

1. Attend mandatory monthly Business Meetings, which will be scheduled once a month. However, excused absences will be granted for events, such as, but not limited to SAT/ ACT. During the year, each Kappa Leaguer must be present at 80% of these meetings.

2. During most months, there will be additional events to include community service events, but typically no more than 3. There will be multiple opportunities to participate. Attendance to events outside of the business meetings must be 80%. Kappa League absences can be excused with prior notice. Please notify your Guide Right Leadership Team by email to ldackappaleague@gmail.com.

3. There will be up to two (2) Mandatory Fundraisers to help support our Program. The target fundraiser goal for each household is $500 or a donation of $500. However, we ask all Kappa League families for a total fundraising goal of $500 (400$ via Double Good and 100$via the Calendar Fundraiser). Families that are unable to meet these requirements will need to cover the minimum $300 non refundable program requirement prior to January 2027. This is how we fund scholarships, college tours and guest speakers Donations will be accepted after this date. Donations of any amount will assist in getting our year off to a quick start. Kappa League participation is Mandatory in fundraiser events.

4. Please note that 2 unexcused absences and/or 4 excused absences, including Fundraiser non-participation, may result in removal from the program.

5. It will be the Kappa Leaguer’s responsibility to sign the meeting attendance rosters.

6. School Performance – Must maintain acceptable grades, and behave in a respectable manner, which will ensure no suspensions etc. This may result in removal from the program.

7. Non-participation during your senior year forfeits any potential LDACKL Merit Scholarship opportunities accrued previous years.

8. Scholarship eligibility requires an active status of your junior and senior.

If you do not have time for Kappa League, please do not complete the application. It's probably not a good fit right now.

SENIORS, as senior year tends to be very hectic with preparation for college and various events, it is imperative you communicate in advance of any concerns as it may impact your qualification for active status and LDAC Kappa League Merit Scholarship.
